Importing costs

I want to explain you about costs and service fees. The car price in Japan is very low compare to price in Australia as you see on Trade Car View web site or other Online car sale from Japan. Most of cars price on Trade Cars View and other Online Shop are FOB price. FOB is short term for Freight On Board. You have to pay freight cost and Insurance fee. The dealer will be loaded your car on ship and the dealer will not be responsible after that but you can buy Insurance for car journey to Australia. The CIF is short hand for Cost, Insurance and Freight. CIF price included Freight cost and Insurance fee.

Here’s a sample costs calculation base on car FOB price AU $ 5000. Please, note the cost may vary depending on car size and other related situation to Government department regulation.

Car FOB Price: $ 5000

Freight fee: $ 1200 (R33 Skyline)

Custom Duty & Tax 20% on CNF price: $ 1240

Quarantine, Wharf storage, Steam cleaning: $ 1200 - $ 1500

Compliance fees: $ 2000 (Nissan Skyline ECR33)

Agent service fee: $ 700

My service fee is $ 700 per car. I’ll do everything for car in Japan and Australia until car was registered. The buyer pay all costs etc; RWC and any replacement parts and labour costs. Please, feel free contact me if you have any questions. I’ll do my best. I’m Trade Car View member. I can compete with Trade Car View Dealers price. You can order price in FOB, CNF and CIF.
Thank you very much.
